Work for religious organisations
The Studio undertakes work for churches, synagogues and other religious establishments. We have worked on new commissions and on cleaning, restoration and repair for altar frontals, lectern covers, vestments, wedding canopies, Torah covers and significant items for other world faiths.
Military, regimental and masonic items
Studio staff are experts in the Both-sides-alike technique used on military banners and regimental colours. We are able to make a replacement colour or banner and to conserve and mount existing banners to prolong their life and use for regimental display. We are also able to repair and restore embroidery on military uniforms. We have recently worked a new altar frontal for the Royal Anglian Regimental Chapel in Warley, Essex.
Livery companies, museums and stately homes
The Studio has undertaken a wide range of projects for Livery companies, museums and stately homes from repairing and conserving tapestries and canvas chair covers to creating embroidered gauntlets and embellishing new robes. In 2009 we created four embroidered hangings for English Heritage and the Great Tower at Dover Castle in Kent.
Companies
We have created a diverse range of work for the corporate market that wants something unique and special. These include embroidered company logos and individual corporate gifts. We can also make one-off embroidered hangings for corporate headquarters or for a special event such as an anniversary or retirement.
Hotels and theatres
The RSN can embroider drapes or customised hangings for public rooms or produce kits for resale to illustrate an unusual property or to mark a special event. Clients include The Milestone Hotel, Kensington. Clients have included the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Woman in White theatre production by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber
