New Ideas - Goldwork on Canvas – E
An exciting new two day course exploring working with traditional techniques of gold and metal work on a canvas background.

New Ideas - Bracelet - Silk & Gold threads – E
Using vibrant silks and gilt threads students will learn how to make a colourful contemporary bracelet. Working with several types of metal thread and introducing colour with other threads, the finished embroidery will make a simple style of bracelet.

New Ideas - Blackwork in Colour – E
Another new course introducing the concept of colour to a technique usually worked in monochrome. You will paint a background colour onto linen and then transfer the design to the fabric. Colour will be introduced by working blackwork stitches in coloured stranded cottons. The emphasis will be on shading using both the pattern and the colour of the threads. An ideal class to explore the use of colour and stitches.

New Ideas - Crewelwork Project – E
Three linked classes to explore designs for and uses of crewel work. Ideal if you are about to start working a sizeable crewel project, but these classes will also appeal to any embroiderer who would like to develop skills in designing and working crewelwork.
One, two or all three classes may be attended but priority will be given to students who wish to attend for all three days.

A fun morning to introduce embroidery stitches for children aged 7 to 11. Adults will be allowed to stitch too.

New Ideas - Gardens with Surface Stitching – E
Recreate a favourite border or other area of a garden in surface stitches. Working on supplied fabric you will paint a background and use a variety of surface stitches with different textured threads, ribbons and beads to create wonderful effects.

Traditionally worked in white thread on a white background, this class will introduce an element of colour with different coloured background fabrics and space dyed threads to create an alternative look.
